Ormy
On the north coast of the Gulf of Kassandra, in a leafy place, the female Holy Convent of the Annunciation of the Virgin, also known as the monastery of Ormylia, was founded in 1974. It is the largest nunnery in Greece.
Visual depiction
The nuns of the monastery contacted our office for the redesign of the logo of the monastery. We kept some elements intact in the branding, aiming for a smooth adjustment – rebranding.
More specifically, in the logo design, we kept the original O as it was designed with a dot in the center. In Christianity, the circle symbolizes eternity and when imprinted with a dot in the middle, it expresses consciousness. At the end of the word Ormy, wanting to graphically capture the momentum, we drew y in motion. The branch refers to the pure traditional products produced by the nuns such as olive oil, olives etc. The olive, as it is known, is one of the oldest symbols in the world. For Christians it reflects the faith of the righteous and for the church the sacred fruit.
In the context of visual upgrade of the brand, we also proceeded to the design of packaging for the products of the monastery.
